Lawsuits driving business from California

Great job, John Shaffery, in your column on Sept. 26! This columnist hit the nail on the head when he clearly states, "Businesses are leaving California because of abusive, unwarranted and unnecessary litigation." His article could not have been better timed. Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse will mark Lawsuit Abuse Awareness Week Oct. 6-10. It's a time to shine the light on the unfair burden placed on every one of California's businesses, large and small, those ...

Response to Kraut

In response to Jonathan Kraut (Voting youth shows maturity, Nov. 25), I am a conservative who did not necessarily vote for John McCain. Rather I voted against the Obama machine.

Alternate escape routes out of our valley

There we were again, completely cut off from going south on the Interstate 5 and Highway 14 freeways and side roads due to a closure because of a fire. And who can forget the same scenario during the 1994 earthquake?

Fleeing business is big problem for California

Regarding Alice Khosravy's column "California is at bottom for business," (Feb. 22), Khosravy's excellent commentary was so clear and so factual citing a huge - if not t-h-e huge - problem that is at the core of California being on life support as a state, a once-thriving, enviable state.
