McCain is not our man
I've followed the presidential campaign from the beginning, riding its roller coaster of events. I've had a hard time putting my finger on exactly what it was that bothered me about John McCain and the prospect of facing four or eight more years with Republicans in the White House.
Blame for McCain
Let me get this straight. John McCain says that the failure of the Wall Street bailout is Barack Obama's fault? Let's backtrack to 1980 and the beginning of the Reagan era.
Squirrel poisoning
I live in the American Beauty Classic housing tract in Canyon Country. Recently I received a letter informing my family and me that our board members - seven homeowners - decided to kill off our squirrel population by poisoning them due to burrowing problems.
Stop SAG strike
No SAG strike! The petition has started to go around. I think it would be great for word to get out for all the below-the-line people who work in the business who are hurting and can not make it through another strike. Please report our side of it, too. It would mean a lot more homes being lost if this happens. More unemployment, thousands of people out of work. Help us please. Thank you.
Republican policies equal economic woes
Look to history. In 1929, the Great Depression, the 1989 recession, and now in 2008, the country was under the command of the Republican Party, Herbert Hoover, Bush Sr., and Bush Jr.
Faith in council lost after Benz Road debacle
This was a letter sent to the Santa City Council. I am saddened by the way the Santa Clarita City Council conducted the emergency meeting regarding the diverter at Benz Road. 19th District race pits two political viewpoints
It looks like the 19th District state Senate race will be one to watch closely. It appears two very different viewpoints are represented in this race. From my perspective, this election is about sending a message to Sacramento.
A Democrat for McCain/Palin
Thank you, Patricia Lester. It is about time a "real woman" stood up for Sarah Palin. I admire everything you said, as well as the fact that you spoke your mind. I have been a registered Democrat since 1956 and voted party since then. However, in 2008 I will vote for McCain/Palin, as there in no doubt in my mind they are the best offered to this country's voters this election.
