Bustos to hold softball clinic
Women's Softball Bustos to host fall clinic Former Canyon graduate and USA softball player Crystl Bustos will host Bustos Fall Clinic on Saturday at the Canyon Country Park. The event, for players ages 8-14 under, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon with a special appearance by Mayor Bob Kellar. Two years later, Harry Welch will be back in Carson. Local girls take first place
The local Pikes competitive team posted outstanding scores and brought home a first-place Level 4 team award in the first-ever competitive meet hosted by Gymnastics Unlimited.
Super Saturday
The Santa Clarita Valley got a look at the future of its football programs on Saturday afternoon, and the future looks bright. Three local teams won titles as the 2008 Pacific Youth Football League Super Bowl was held at Cougar Stadium on the campus of College of the Canyons.

Between the high school and college programs around the area, the Santa Clarita Valley has seen a lot of success in sports.
Corporate Combine Challenge
Special Olympics-Santa Clarita and Velocity Sports Performance hosted the inaugural Corporate Combine Challenge to raise funds for SCV Athletes Sunday. Four teams made up of locals were challenged in four events - 40-yard dash, 5-10-5 Pro Agility Shuttle, Powerball Throw, and vertical jump - in front of NFL coaches and scouts.

Hart Alumni 2008 Basketball Game The Hart high basketball hoopsters are sponsoring the annual boys basketball alumni game, which will be held at Hart High's Laurence K. Strauss Gymnasium on Nov. 26.
