Steve Pinkston resigned as head coach of the Golden Valley High School football program Thursday due to philosophical differences with school administration over the direction of the program.
SCV Prep Zone coming Friday
With the end of the playoffs last week for the local high school football teams, a special SCV Prep Zone is being prepared for this week. We'll sum up the season and have some fun, too. This little project will take a bit more time, so we intend to post this week's Prep Zone video Friday evening.

College men's soccer: McManus named Pac-10 Player of the Week Former Canyon High soccer player Matt McManus was named Pac-10 Player of the Week for his San Diego State Univeristy team. The redshirt junior earned his first weekly award after scoring twice in a 3-3 tie against UCLA on Sunday.
