SCCS runs roughshod over Pats

Santa Clarita Christian School football amassed 520 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground en route to a 66-43 victory over Hesperia Christian Saturday night at Canyon High School.

The Cardinals (2-2) were led by senior running back Collin Keoshian, who piled up 304 yards on 24 carries and tallied six rushing touchdowns. He also caught the Cardinals lone score through the air when he pulled in a pass delivered from quarterback Colin Mayhugh for a 36-yard score in the first quarter.

Saugus sets pace out East

It appears that the boundaries of Saugus cross country's dominance are expanding.

The Centurions won the girls 3-mile varsity AAA race, led by junior Kaylin Mahoney's individual victory, while the boys team placed third in its respective 3-mile varsity AAA race on Saturday at the 45th McQuaid Jesuit Cross Country Invitational in Genesee Valley Park, Rochester, N.Y.

Grizzlies shut out by Diamondbacks

Golden Valley continued to struggle on offense thanks to Serrano's strong defensive effort in a 24-0 loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday at Canyon High.

The Diamondbacks (3-2) entered the game giving up only seven points per contest and controlled the line of scrimmage all night, limiting Golden Valley (0-4) to less that 100 yards of total offense.
