Gillies shuts down the Grizzlies

The West Ranch varsity baseball team shut out Golden Valley on Friday 9-0 at West Ranch High. Wildcat Charlie Gillies pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 12 Grizzlies, and allowing only three hits. The win is the fourth for Gillies on the season. Saugus attacks immediately

It was a 10-run first inning that led the Saugus varsity baseball team over Canyon on Friday. The Centurions defeated the Cowboys 12-3 on Saugus' home field. Saugus (14-6, 7-2) beat Canyon (6-12, 1-8) 2-1 in extra innings on Wednesday. The Cents have now won seven straight league games and have moved into a tie for second place in the Foothill League. Caio Schmitd's first memories of volleyball began when he was a young boy cheering his father on at matches in Brazil.
