Everyone, it seems, has heard of someone who is an "overnight success." The reality is, the definition of "overnight," when the layers of time are peeled away, is something more like two decades.
The Hart High School cheerleaders closed out the Cell Phones for Soldiers Drive in February, collecting 439 cell phones this year, which was the best turnout in its three-year history. The squad kicked off the drive in August with local U.S. Army recruiters. All of the used cell phones collected will be sent to the nonprofit organization, Cell Phones for Soldiers. The phones are recycled and money is used to purchase prepaid phone cards. This allows soldiers serving overseas to stay in touch with their families.
