Hart High AP program scores on Newsweek best-of list

There is good reason the Hart High School Advanced Placement Program is nationally recognized. The school placed among the top 1,500 schools in the nation, according to "Newsweek" magazine, based on the percentage of students taking AP courses and exams.

Governor signs bill adding Elsmere Canyon to Rim of the Valley corridor

One of the 200 bills signed late Sunday night by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was AB 110, authored by Assemblyman Cameron Smyth and supported by the city of Santa Clarita, to add Elsmere Canyon back into the Rim of the Valley corridor.

Nursing home rating system signed into law

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich today applauded Governor Schwarzenegger's decision to sign legislation requiring California nursing homes to post their five-star rating issued by the Federal Government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Lunetta passes off lies as fact

It's truly sad that Steve Lunetta's column ("The stench coming from ACORN," The Signal, Oct. 12) is another example of a conservative making up things and passing them off as fact. He then decries the made up situation. His column is both factually incorrect and backed by information provided by an organization that provides "made as instructed" studies.
