S.F. Mayor Newsom ends run for Calif. governor

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who propelled the debate over gay marriage but struggled to find a popular message outside the San Francisco Bay area, dropped his bid for California governor on Friday.

Review: 'This Is It'

"This is it," Michael Jackson told his fans in London, announcing his forthcoming concert tour. "This is the final curtain call." The curtain fell sooner than expected. Video Game Review: 'Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time'

Ratchet and Clank, the lombax/robot duo now starring in their ninth video game, may not be as famous as some other lovable mascots, like Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog. They haven't gotten their own Saturday morning cartoon show, cereals or plush toys. And they haven't been spun off into sports games, kart racers or pinball games.

McKeon to Administration: 'Where are the jobs?'

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Howard P. "Buck" McKeon (R-Santa Clarita), issued the following statement in response to the Administration's latest claims that the stimulus has successfully created jobs:

"The Obama Administration is embarrassingly trying to spin the American public with recent claims that the so-called economic stimulus package has 'created or saved' a million jobs or more. The American people are smarter than that. The truth is Americans have lost three million jobs since the stimulus passed.

We all know that perception often influences our decisions, yet we catch ourselves and become reminded that what we perceive isn't always what's really going on.
