Holiday Festival of Trains visiting Nixon Library through Jan. 10

YORBA LINDA, Calif. (PRNewswire-USNewswire) -- A Holiday Festival of Trains at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is taking visitors on a magical journey through the world of miniature trains through Jan. 10.

One of the largest such collections ever assembled, this spectacular display features a breathtaking landscape of toy trains whistling through tiny snow-covered turn of the century villages, a 1890 Bavarian castle, and forested, mountain passes with more than 5,000 miniature trees.

Magic Mountain employees to give back Friday

More than 200 full-time Six Flags Magic Mountain employees will take part in a range of community service projects Friday as part of the company's first ever day of service, known as Project 6. Employees will give back at various locations including the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, Carousel Ranch, the SCV Boys & Girls Club, the SCV Senior Center and the SCV YMCA.

Arm-wrestling competition Saturday

John Brzenk, Guinness World Record-holder in armwrestling, is coming to the Santa Clarita Valley Saturday, Nov. 14 to help raise funds for the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project.

From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m, professionals, amateurs and first-time armwrestlers are invited to the Residence Inn on The Old Road for some friendly competition. Participants will compete in their own weight class and fight for the champion title.

WWII vet Ed Reiff finally collects overdue honors

Ed Reiff, a Marine veteran of World War II, expected his Oct. 8 evening to turn out to be like most family dinners at the home of his son, Morrie. Instead, he was surprised when he received the long-overdue war medals awarded to him for his service to the country more than 60 years ago.

Morrie Reiff's Calabasas home was filled with family, friends, fellow Marines and veterans as his father was presented six medals from his two tours of duty during World War II in both the Pacific and European theaters.
