Parties in the park, group packages for events

The city of Santa Clarita invites community members to take advantage of its Parkmobile Party Packages this fall. The program is a great way to celebrate birthday parties and events at local parks, providing fun activities for kids five to 12 years of age at an affordable price.

Berger, MacGregor are the right choices

I am writing because I believe greatly in College of the Canyons. I have worked here for 22 years as an instructional administrator, athletic director and mathematics professor. I am also the proud father of a graduate (2007) and future graduate (2014) of our college.

Dave Bossert - Status quo is the way to go Nov. 3

With two weeks until the Nov. 3 election and the absentee ballots already out, the election is practically over at this point. That is the usual mantra from those who say their vote won't really make a difference. I don't believe that. With this advisory vote for the westside unincorporated communities, every vote matters.

Don't forget to vote this Nov. 3

Out of the five candidates running for the Castaic Union School District board this Nov. 3, there are three that deserve your vote. Laura Pearson, Susan Christopher and Victor Torres. That is all I have to say! Don't forget to vote!

Valdes is a win-win pick

There is an underdog in the William S. Hart Union High School District board race. You don't see nearly as much press for Linda Valdes as you do for the other candidates, but I truly hope they don't underestimate the impact Linda has had on Santa Clarita.

Really, Signal?

What has become of the small town in which I grew up? Over the years I've watched folks move in and for some reason they want to elevate themselves to a status above all the rest. I often think I wish they would move back to wherever they came from.

Our View - Vote 'yes' for westside annexation

Voters in West Ranch, Castaic and Tesoro del Valle will make an important decision Nov. 3, perhaps the most important decision anyone in the Santa Clarita Valley has been asked to make since 1987, when local residents formed their own city.

Tony Strickland - We must protect our state's businesses

Owning and operating your own business has never been easy. Start-up capital, office space, equipment, employees, payroll, fierce competition and endless paperwork mean never resting as an owner of a small business. And yet, 99.2 percent of the businesses in California fall into the category of "small" and employ more than half of our state's workforce.

Obama will leave a legacy of debt

Debt. Massive, historic, unprecedented generational debt will be the sole "accomplishment" of President Barack Hussein Obama - all so he can repay his union minions, environmental extremist supporters, media sycophants and liberal dupes that look to his taxpayer-financed largesse.
