Santa Clarita scores $4.6 million for green energy

Two arrested after burglary spree

A Santa Clarita resident and deputies have put an end to a burglary crime spree involving as many as 30 daytime residential burglaries occurring in Saugus, Bridgeport, North Park, Valencia and Northbridge dating back to April of this year.

Open Book Alliance gives statement on Google Book case

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Open Book Alliance, a coalition of librarians, legal scholars, authors, publishers, and technology companies created to counter the proposed Google Book Settlement in its current form, today issued the following statement in response to the settlement parties' motion for a postponement of the Oct. 7 fairness hearing:

"When the proposed Google Book Settlement came before the court, hundreds and hundreds of diverse voices raised significant objections, ranging from antitrust to copyright to privacy concerns.
