House approves $2B more for 'cash for clunkers'
WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - The House voted overwhelmingly Friday to rush $2 billion into the popular but financially strapped "cash for clunkers" car purchase program, heeding calls from consumers eager to keep taking advantage of thousands of dollars in trade-in incentives. House members approved the measure 316-109 within hours of learning from Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood that the program was running out of money.
SCV Allstars perform at Central Park
The SCV Allstars, produced by Pramik Entertainment, is made up of 11 of Santa Clarita's busiest professional musicians. These talented musicians, from our own backyard, have been seen on stage worldwide, in movies and television, on tour with major artists, and heard in countless recordings and commercials. There was some awesome kite-flying weather with the sunshine and the wind (a little too much wind on some days!) and it was easy to ditch the heavy jackets in favor of short sleeves and shorts.
