I guess the first president who won the prize was sure a peaceful man. Theodore Roosevelt charged up San Juan Hill and killed as many Cubans as he could. I'm sure that qualified him for the prize.

Sheriff's detectives seek help from the public in identifying and locating a man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman in Canyon Country Oct. 11, though this incident does not appear to be related to other recent kidnap attempts in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to a report this afternoon from Lt. Brenda Cambra the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

SCV -- Hollywood's Backlot: Halfway House Café

Oftentimes, finding familiar things in unfamiliar places can be a bit unsettling. I was reminded of this last year when my wife and I were watching television in our hotel room outside the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. We were packing our bags for a day-hike when an image of the Halfway House Café, a restaurant we frequent only a couple of miles from our Canyon Country home, appeared on the screen.
