Veterans Committee honors Memorial Day

The Santa Clarita Valley Veterans Memorial Committee is the non-profit organization that constructed the Veterans Memorial Wall at Eternal Valley Cemetery in Santa Clarita and produces the annual Tribute to Veterans held every Memorial Day beginning at 10 a.m. at Eternal Valley.

Board approves Antonovich motion to limit unfunded mandates

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich for an investigation to determine whether, by accepting funding from the Federal Economic Stimulus Package, the County will be committed to assume the costs for required programs and services after stimulus dollars have been depleted. "We want to ensure that accepting these dollars will not lock in County taxpayers for additional spending after the stimulus money is gone," Antonovich said. ...
