We need more ‘no’ with state’s budget problem

In his column advocating the extension of the 2009 temporary tax increase ("Regardless of party, we're in the same boat," Feb. 15), John Zaring parroted Gov. Jerry Brown's threat to cut education and programs that assist the poor if the record-breaking tax increase isn't extended.

Community should back doctors in dispute with hospital

My sisters and I have lived in Newhall since 1962. Our parents lived here until they died, Dad at 85, and Mom at 94 years old. Over the years, we had taken them to multiple specialty doctors in this community.
