Finally, there is one politician who has come out and said what needs to be said. Bob Kellar is 100 percent correct. There are so many of this country's problems that could be corrected or made so much better by cracking down on illegal immigration.
Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar could have chosen better words. However, his political incorrectness has cut to the heart of the matter.
Congressman Howard "Buck" McKeon pacifying the politically correct crowd is more than a huge disappointment ("McKeon: Kellar should offer an apology," Feb. 3). He reportedly said: "It was an unfortunate statement. ... I'd encourage it to be clarified, cleared up, apologized for and moved on from."
Regarding "McKeon: Kellar should offer an apology" (The Signal, Feb. 3): Bob Kellar has absolutely nothing to apologize for as far as illegal immigration goes. Theodore Roosevelt said the same words more than 100 years ago. "There is only room in this nation for one flag and one language," and by God, if it's good enough for the president of the United States of America to say, then there is no reason for anyone to ...
To whom is Bob Kellar supposed to apologize? Those who believe he is a racist are gratified that, in their minds, he has proven it. Therefore they do not need an apology. Those who believe his statement was not a racist slur were not affronted, so they have no complaint. Those who can't decide if his statement was racist don't know if they were offended, so they need no apology.
I applaud Bob Kellar for the stand he's taken on illegal immigration. Finally, a politician has the guts to stand up for the people who pay taxes. He is the voice for what most American citizens aren't able to say. Meg Whitman and Howard "Buck" McKeon are running from the truth like any other politician. They have lost what this United States was founded on. Keep it up, Bob.
Take the emotions out of the equation and you have the almighty dollar. That U.S. dollar is being misused violently and that is criminal. We need to become more realistic and make some of these other countries take care of their own. If people choose to be here illegally and not go through the process of legalization, like those who paved the way, then get out. No right. No benefits. No nothing. Do it legally ...
Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar is being vilified and is anything but a racist. As one who worked closely with Kellar on community housing issues for decades, I am qualified to make this assessment. Kellar has been an avid supporter of Habitat for Humanity's work to lift up the working poor, regardless of race, by providing decent, affordable housing and other life skills that have propelled many families toward brighter economic futures. Even now, ...
Bob Kellar should not apologize for his remarks at the rally against amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Bob Kellar has my vote and my respect. Meg Whitman, Bruce McFarland, Laurie Ender and Frank Ferry do not.
If nothing else, working in the news business quickly teaches one to develop a thick skin. We've gotten used to name-calling, accusations and death threats - and we don't obsess too much over them, because it comes with the territory.

I've heard of all-star casts, but "Valentine's Day" has a complete star cast. What did other movies do for talent when this one was filming? It has 21 actors who can be considered stars, and some are very big stars indeed. It's like the famous poster for "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World," with a traffic jam of famous faces.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama gained ground Tuesday in his drive for congressional backing of a military strike against Syria, winning critical support from House Speaker John Boehner while key Senate Democrats and Republicans agreed to back a no-combat-troops-on-the-ground action in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack.

If you question New York City's Stop and Frisk policies, you might consider the constitutionality of Santa Clarita's DUI checkpoints. What justification is there for stopping over a thousand cars when there is absolutely no reasonable cause? Just because we have a federal grant, Do we have to spend taxpayer money to cite a single DUI? Some may argue that it takes just one drunk to run over a child, but I'd ask what percentage ...
Our President Barack Obama is asking the Congress' vote. It's legitimate. If we have the proof that Syria killed children and adults with chemical weapons don't we have to intervene? I understand this time France would be our ally if we decide to save lives.
Junior and Missy's parents are driving them 12 hours away from their hometown to The University of Getting Out of My Parents' House. Sure, there are plenty of local community colleges and state schools they could have attended, but then they would have to come home every night to live with those stupid cash machines who raised them.

We all know that perception often influences our decisions, yet we catch ourselves and become reminded that what we perceive isn't always what's really going on. With the constant barrage of information available in today's 24/7 world, it's important to not get caught up in the day-to-day market volatility and news headlines. That daily hype doesn't always dovetail with what Wells Fargo Advisors top strategists are observing in the financial marketplace.
