USAF band lands at Performing Arts Center 7:30 tonight

SCV loses valuable volunteer

On December 25, 2008 - Jett's last birthday - Jett trotted into the bustling Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Jett instantly spotted a sick and scared looking 3-year-old sitting on his dad's lap in the waiting room. The child's eyes lit up at the sight of Jett. The dog went straight to the boy and put his big head on the 3-year-old's lap. In that moment all fear was forgotten.

Driver sleeps, crashes into pole

A male driver fell asleep at the wheel, hit and broke an electrical pole on Soledad Canyon Road leading to a street closure for more than an hour late Saturday afternoon, according to a report from Lt. Robert Lewis of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Department.

Disabled cruise ship finally docks

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A cruise ship disabled for five nightmarish days in the Gulf of Mexico finally docked with some 4,200 people aboard late Thursday, passengers raucously cheering the end to an ocean odyssey they say was marked by overflowing toilets, food shortages and foul odors. About four hours later, the last of the passengers had gotten off the ship.
