Teacher scores grant from Target

Rosedell Elementary teacher Kevin McGroary has received a $500 grant from the Target Field Trip Grants Program toward a field trip for his sixth-grade class. The grant covers transportation, supplies and equipment, resource materials and entry fees. Target's program aims to provide teachers with field trip funds to replace funds lost due to budget cuts.

SCV sinks business stormdrain fee

The city of Santa Clarita's Development Process Advisory Committee voted to remove its Stormdrain Transfer Deposit Fee to reduce the expenses of local businesses. The omitted fees will make city-based projects affordable for businesses. The decision to remove the fee stems from the city's acknowledgement of the economic hardships of local businesses.
