Deputies seek suspect in Oct. 11 kidnap attempt

Sheriff's detectives seek help from the public in identifying and locating a man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman in Canyon Country Oct. 11, though this incident does not appear to be related to other recent kidnap attempts in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to a report this afternoon from Lt. Brenda Cambra the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

SCV Jaycees host ‘Santa’s Helpers’ Dec. 19

This holiday season, JCI Santa Clarita Valley (SCV Jaycees) aim to help children in need. On Saturday, Dec. 19, the SCV Jaycees will host the 11th Annual "Santa's Helpers" event at Ice Station Valencia at 6 p.m. This year's goal is to assist 200 local families by providing them with toys for the holiday season.

Oftentimes, finding familiar things in unfamiliar places can be a bit unsettling. I was reminded of this last year when my wife and I were watching television in our hotel room outside the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza.
