Saugus Junior to Attend Prestigious Summer Institute Congratulations to Saugus High School junior Alex Petrovich, who will attend the Stanford University Junior Statesmen summer school program for outstanding high school students June 28 through July 19. Admission for the program was extremely competitive with acceptance decisions based on academic achievement, leadership ability, maturity and interest in politics, history and government. Deputies seek suspect in attempted bank robbery

Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Robbery and Assault team are investigating an attempted robbery which occurred yesterday afternoon at a bank in the 25800 block of The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch. A female adult entered the bank, implied that someone was going to kill her, and demanded money from the teller. The female left the location without obtaining anything after the teller walked away from his window.
