In his guest column last Sunday ("Tea party to blame for credit downgrade"), Charlie Vignola blamed the country's credit rating downgrade on the tea parties, claiming that Obama offered a budget plan that would have solved the debt crisis, but that John Boehner, at the behest of the tea parties, turned it down, leading to the downgrade.
