My name is Jonathan Ramirez, and I am currently a senior at Valencia High School. This letter is in response to the editorial released Nov. 27 titled "Our View: Why we need vigilance in D.C."
Once again, a big thank you to the Lions Club and all those that provided the "best of the best" Thanksgiving dinner for us at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center. This, I know, has been going on for 30 years.
The Nov. 21 column "Thank goodness Gingrich will never be president," written by Ann McFeatters, has got to be the most biased and blatant tunnel view of Newt Gingrich ever.
Few things bother me more than hypocrisy. I was raised in a very strict home in which all of the usual societal vices were forbidden. As the old saying goes, we were not allowed "to smoke or chew or go out with girls who do." Added to the list were prohibitions on alcohol, movies, playing cards, shopping on Sunday and a few other things that were branded as both unrighteous and downright dangerous to the soul.
