Identity of charred woman remains unknown

The identity a woman found burned in Castaic earlier this week was still unknown on Thursday after an autopsy was performed on her body, coroner's officials said. The woman's body was discovered Monday while firefighters were putting out a brush fire off Templin Highway a few yards east of Interstate 5. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau are investigating the case.

New life in ‘Dracula’

"Dracula" will stalk the Valencia High School Theater Oct. 21 through 23 at 7 p.m. and also at 2 p.m. on Oct 23. The play, adapted by Eric Clarke, is "a bloody new adaptation of the timeless tale" by Bram Stoker.

The Upstart Crows, the new local theatre group that delivers witty intimate theatre, opens its new production of "Theatricks" on Friday Oct. 15 at the SCV Space, 27600 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus. The production runs two weekends, with Oct. 15, 16, 23 and 24 performances at 8 p.m. and one Sunday matinee the first weekend, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m.
