I cannot afford to act in the capacity of academic snob. I attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, ranked third by the "everyone gets a prize" U.S. News and World Report as a midwestern regional university.
Thank you for your coverage of the Aug. 24 City Council meeting regarding the proposal to take over the operation of three local libraries ("Last words on libraries").
Once again, I'm glad to say "Bravo Bob Kellar!" You have a backbone and are not a sheeple.

In response to the open letter to me concerning the proposed annexation of Tesoro del Valle by the city of Santa Clarita ("Annex Tesoro," Aug. 31), it is my understanding that representatives of the Tesoro del Valle Homeowners Association board of directors - the elected representatives for the 1,100 families currently living there - have testified and submitted letters to the city asking that they wait until the county completes its processing of a pending application for entitlements of the undeveloped property in Tesoro.
