Man who shot woman on porch will face murder trial

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - A Detroit-area man who fatally shot a drunk, unarmed woman on his porch will stand trial for second-degree murder, a judge said Thursday, rejecting a self-defense argument for the killer's "bad choice."

Castaic/Val Verde Zone 2: burglary reported

There were five Part 1 Crimes in Zone 2. One residential burglary was reported on Chiquito Canyon in Val Verde. A resident's window was pried half open in an attempt to gain entry. The homeowner had placed a stick in the window rail preventing the suspect from getting the window open enough to climb through. No items were reported missing from the residence.
