5th Circuit refuses to bar judge from spill suits

New Orleans (AP) - A federal appeals court has refused to order a judge to recuse himself from dozens of lawsuits over the deadly Deepwater Horizon rig explosion even though he owned corporate bonds issued by two of the companies sued in the cases.

First and foremost

Regarding the fatal collision on July 4 at the fireworks event in Valencia, the Santa Clarita City Council is missing a very important factor: Cars and crowds never mix. The only answer to keep the public safe is to close down Valencia Boulevard and open it to only emergency vehicles, as they can be seen and heard. I believe this is the only way to ensure the safety of the public. This is not rocket science, folks.

Number of homeless seniors to rise sharply, study says
