Metrolink maintenance crews will perform repairs along Metrolink's Antelope Valley Line railroad tracks from Saturday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.

Nomination deadline Feb. 1

Local nonprofit organizations have until Feb. 1 to submit nominations for the 2010 Women in Service Celebration sponsored by Zonta Club of SCV. The event honors outstanding women volunteers from throughout the community and is scheduled for March 20 at Robinson Ranch clubhouse.

Dance team aids Help The Children

Hart High School's dance team performing arts benefit showcase, known as "Hart of the Holidays," was held in December in Hart High's Auditorium. Members raised money and gathered donations for Help The Children, a local nonprofit organization.

Supervisors urge county residents to donate to Haitian relief

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - To assist and provide relief and support to the victims of the Haiti earthquake, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Molina amended by Supervisor Antonovich to encourage county residents and employees to make monetary contributions to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
