After Laurie Keller's students at Pinecrest Valencia read the book "By the Great Horn Spoon," the class decided to do a puppet show based on the story.

Living history: Heritage Junction

Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society docents led tours of the Saugus Train Station, the Kingsley House, the Edison House, a one-room schoolhouse, a tiny chapel and the Mitchell Adobe. Students dressed as children did in the past, the girls in pinafores and the boys in suspenders and caps. The field trip was the culmination of a "living history" unit, and all costs were paid for by a grant from Azusa Pacific College and the Southern California Historical Society.
