First-time homebuyer program open to Santa Clarita residents

The city is set to hold informational meetings for FirstHOME, its first-time homebuyer program, on Aug. 28 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sept. 1 from noon to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The meetings will be in the Century Room at City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd.

Local CPA gets specialist credential

Ronald D. Morgan, a certified-public accountant with Sterb, Kory, Sreden and Morgan in Stevenson Ranch, has been credentialed as a personal-finance specialist by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The PFS credential, held by several thousand CPAs nationwide, was established in 1987. CPAs who earn the PFS credential must be re-certified every three years.

While Saturn dealerships are being phased out, Parkway Motorcars has been named an official Saturn authorized service provider. Authorization entails Saturn-specific training for a dealership's service staff and stocking of Saturn parts. Saturn owners can take their vehicles to Parkway's Creekside Road GM dealership, Parkway Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Hummer.
