Suspected drunk driver collides with Santa Clarita Transit bus

A Santa Clarita Valley Transit bus that had just picked up a passenger and began moving eastbound on Soledad Canyon Road and Golden Oak Road was rear-ended by a passenger car driven by Jeane Dexheimer, 51, of Camarillo, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

Nonprofit disaster training event Sept. 21

The city of Santa Clarita and the Emergency Network of Los Angeles are holding a free half-day disaster training event for local faith-based and nonprofit groups on Sept. 21. The event, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, will focus on how to prepare for a disaster and continue operating during one.
