'Kite Runner' essay contest

Students who attend the Literature to Life presentation of "The Kite Runner" Sunday at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at the College of the Canyons will be eligible to enter an essay contest by comparing the performance with the novel. A greener Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita continues to be a cleaner, greener city. Beginning with the city's incorporation in 1987, the city has worked with the community to implement environmentally sustainable policies and practices, including the holiday-tree collection and recycling program, free recycling for city-based businesses and the annual Household Hazardous Waste collection program.
