Santa Clarita continues to be a cleaner, greener city. Beginning with the city's incorporation in 1987, the city has worked with the community to implement environmentally sustainable policies and practices, including the holiday-tree collection and recycling program, free recycling for city-based businesses and the annual Household Hazardous Waste collection program. No one was injured when two "bottle bombs" went off minutes apart on the College of the Canyons Valencia campus, one in a parking lot, and one in a roadway, at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

Spring is in the air in the SCV
It seems like spring in the Santa Clarita Valley! The calendar officially still says winter, but this past week has been very "spring-like." There was some awesome kite-flying weather with the sunshine and the wind (a little too much wind on some days!) and it was easy to ditch the heavy jackets in favor of short sleeves and shorts.
