Smyth lauds passage of 'Race to the Top' education reform

SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Cameron Smyth (R-Santa Clarita) has joined Democrats and Republicans in passing bipartisan education reforms that will make California more competitive to receive up to $700 million in "Race to the Top" funds, calling the plan an important step forward that will empower parents and help the state improve its failing schools.

African Children’s Choir scheduled to perform Jan. 10

The African Children's Choir will perform a free community concert at 6 p.m. on Jan. 10 at Grace Baptist Church, 22833 Copper Hill Drive. Members of the choir come from some of poorest parts of Africa and the organization works to better the lives of the children.
