Subscription drive not authorized

The William S. Hart Union High School District has received reports of teens going door-to-door selling newspaper subscriptions to help the local Regional Occupational Program (ROP) career technical classes. The ROP program has not authorized such a fundraising program and local ROP students are not benefiting, according to Jan Burns, ROP specialist with the district.

Fire insurance woes

One reason the Santa Clarita Valley is a fire zone is the dry and hot weather. There is development in the mountains and canyons. Excessive and dried vegetation adds fuel to the fire. Some insurance companies even refuse to offer fire insurance. For example, AAA does not offer fire insurance in Canyon Country because there is a limited number of fire stations.
