Just two months ago, the William S. Hart Union High School District board generously bestowed seven years of health benefits upon the retiring superintendent. Fast forward to today and they are dropping five days from the school year to save money. Coincidence? At the time, district board President Paul Strickland said of the health-care package vote: "We thought that was the right thing to do because he's close to age 65."
