Rubber Ducky Day

The Santa Clarita City Council officially proclaimed Oct. 22 as Rubber Ducky Day. Left to right, Councilman Bob Kellar, Councilwoman Laurene Weste, The Duck, Mayor Marsha McLean, Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers board President Ed "Papa Duck" Bolden of Andel Engineering, and Cheryl Laymon, Dixon Centers executive director, Mayor Pro Tem Laurie Ender and Councilman Frank Ferry. The Rubber Ducky Festival is set for Saturday, October 22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Castaic Lake.

So, once again, Sheriff Lee Baca wants millions of dollars for his jail empire. Now he wants to tear down the Men's Central Jail and build two big, new towers and a new women's jail at the wayside facility in Castaic.
