Walk Club starts walks at Hart Park

William S. Hart Park has started a Walk Club as part of the 2010 Healthy Parks Initiative. The program allows adults to participate in light exercise with opportunities to walk paths and pedestrian trails of the Newhall park.

African Children’s Choir scheduled to perform Jan. 10

The African Children's Choir will perform a free community concert at 6 p.m. on Jan. 10 at Grace Baptist Church, 22833 Copper Hill Drive. Members of the choir come from some of poorest parts of Africa and the organization works to better the lives of the children.

Gary Horton: Turducken opinions make me ill

This past Monday I stopped at the local supermarket to grab a thing or two. Passing the frozen meat section, I noticed a young grocer rearranging large boxes in the display case. "Turducken," squawked the label, and pictured in epicurean freakishness was a frankensteinian mishmash of turkey, duck and chicken shoved and stuffed into an unholy fowlish trinity.
