Signs and the law

Tim Myers recently wrote a column ("History, signs, shoulder shrugging and constitutional law," March 28), suggesting a Santa Clarita ordinance regulating the use of public signage. In this case - political campaign signs - it is unconstitutional.

City to host 'Evening of Remembrance' Wednesday

Widening for Sierra Highway in Acton OK'd

Los Angeles County -- To enhance safety and mobility, the Board of Supervisors approved a construction project to widen lanes and build a center median to separate oncoming traffic on Sierra Highway between State Route 14 and Pearblossom Highway in the unincorporated community of Acton, according to Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Hart cheer takes top honors

Hart High School's varsity competition team took home top honors during a March 12-14 competition at the Cheerleaders of America West Coast National Championships. The school's varsity competition team, varsity stunt team and individual cheerleaders won first place in their divisions. The stunt team placed first in all five competitions this year. The three-day competition brought teams from Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas.
