Legislators need to feel cutbacks as well

The proposal from state and federal legislators to scale back future pensions, wages and entitlement for government employees would certainly posses more credibility if it also applied in these same matters for the legislators.

Gorell names Woman of the Year

Assemblyman Jeff Gorell, who represents a large portion of Castaic, honored Janice Parvin as the 2011 Woman of the Year for the 37th Assembly District during a special ceremony Monday. Parvin has become an active voice within the city of Moorpark. She is the chair for the Ventura County Council of Government and vice-chair of Ventura LAFCO. Parvin is also on the board of the California League of Cities.
