Tuesday's election reminded us of a recent letter to the editor which asked, in essence, "Do you mean to say I need to read The Signal to know what's going on in the Santa Clarita Valley?"

Just came across Bruce McFarland's column ("Remembering my mother, the activist," Oct. 20) about his mom (Jeannette McFarland) the activist.
My boy's father died last weekend. Yesterday was the first day my son decided to go out and skate again in our skatepark. To make his day a little better, I gave him $5 for food. He went to McDonald's and ordered two orders of french fries and two McDoubles, with no cheese and ketchup only. He went back to explain that his order was wrong (they had pickles and cheese).
