A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department patrol car and a Mercedes Benz collided in Stevenson Ranch early Tuesday, sending a local deputy and a Garden Grove teen to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

SCV Chamber heads to Sacramento

The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce is hsoting a one-day lobbying trip to Sacramento on Thursday to meet with legislators regarding both education and enterprise zones. The trip costs $50. Attendees are responsible for their own travel costs.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A bolt of lightning struck the ship capturing oil from a blown-out BP well in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, igniting a fire that halted containment efforts in another setback for the embattled company in its nearly two-month struggle to stop the spill, the company said.
