Sitting at a stop light thinking about the tragedy of 9/11, I noticed the truck in front of me had traded in its "BUSH/CHENEY" sticker for a "O: Worst President Ever" sticker, and it made me chuckle at the irony. Hart district board members this week appointed Elizabeth "Betti" Sternberg and Spencer Leafdale to fill two vacancies on the Measure SA Citizens' Oversight Committee. The two local residents were selected out of four applicants who were screened by William S. Hart Union High School District board members, administrators and a member of the public, Carl Goldman. The committee is responsible for reviewing audits and documents related to Measure SA, a $300 million construction bond passed by local voters in 2008.
Bianca M. Roberts this week was appointed as the vice president and chief advancement officer at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. Roberts joined the CalArts faculty on June 1 to work in CalArts development, advancement services and alumni relations programs.
