Letter: U.S. needs to start tapping its own oil supply

On June 23, the International Energy Agency, or IEA, announced it was releasing 60 million barrels of oil from its emergency energy reserves, sending oil prices tumbling, a good thing for consumers. Further, the Obama administration announced that 30 million of that would be American oil.
