Romero Canyon site chosen for future Castaic high school

The governing board of the William S. Hart Union High School District has selected a site in the Romero Canyon area of Castaic for a future high school to serve the Castaic area, and has directed staff to begin the initial study of the California Environmental Quality Assessment (CEQA) analysis immediately.

UCLA extension to offer fitness instruction at College of the Canyons

Beginning in fall 2010, College of the Canyons will partner with UCLA Extension to offer a certificate program in Fitness Instruction at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center.

Blending theory and practice, UCLA Extension's one-year Fitness Instruction program will provide students with the body of knowledge needed to excel in the field of fitness instruction. The program is ideal for personal trainers and coaches who want to achieve elite status in their profession, as well as fitness enthusiasts and professionals looking to change careers.

China talks of bid for World Cup in 2026

'Annie' at the PAC

Just as the Little Orphan Annie comic strip is being taken out of print, the Santa Clarita Regional Theatre will bring the musical "Annie," based on the comic, to the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.
