On Oct. 12, Agua Dulce Elementary School students assembled on the blacktop to join first lady Michelle Obama's effort to set a new Guinness World Record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. The challenge was to have at least 20,000 people worldwide to do jumping jacks for one minute. Agua Dulce students were excited and proud that their little school could be part of a global effort. School leaders were pleased that the attempt was a fun and unifying way for students to exercise and practice healthy habits.

Our View: Fraud against COC costs us all

Recent incidents of student fraud against College of the Canyons and the state have administrators scrambling to find ways to stop students from taking advantage of past lax oversight and poor money management on behalf of the state, leading to roughly $1 million in unpaid fees.

Saburo Matsumoto: A much better immigration experience

I have a contradiction in my wallet - my permanent resident card, also known as the "green card," which, by the way, is not really green.

What a tragedy this is. It's incomprehensible that Alex would lose his life over a Nintendo game system.

We all know that perception often influences our decisions, yet we catch ourselves and become reminded that what we perceive isn't always what's really going on.
