AYSO forges friendships

At the heart of the whirling rides and giddy atmosphere of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Saugus Region 46 opening day carnival was an undertone of community and friendship. Liberals’ last card

Contrary to popular opinion - and recent polls - there is a bright spot in the Obama administration's hijacking of America (no, his eclipsing Jimmy Carter as the least-competent president ever is not the bright spot I'm talking about): 70 years of the liberals' efforts to implement socialism, Marxism, collectivism, statism or redistributionism - whatever term you prefer - has succeeded. If they care

If the Santa Clarita City Council goes ahead with its plan to privatize our libraries, 39 to 40 loyal and faithful part-time employees will be out of work. This is unconscionable in this time of record unemployment and jobs impossible to find.

City has no experience

We do not believe the city of Santa Clarita can provide better library services than Los Angeles County. We do not think Santa Clarita has the capability to "enhance" our libraries by privatizing them. If the city did take over, we know they would slap another tax on us in the long-term to operate the facilities.

If it ain’t broke, why fix it?

Dear Santa Clarita City Council, as a regular user of the Valencia Library who knows first-hand how important the libraries are to Santa Clarita's less affluent citizens, I am appalled at the planned actions by the Santa Clarita City Council to transfer operation of our libraries to an unknown private company from Maryland.

We all know that perception often influences our decisions, yet we catch ourselves and become reminded that what we perceive isn't always what's really going on. With the constant barrage of information available in today's 24/7 world, it's important to not get caught up in the day-to-day market volatility and news headlines.
