Thank you to our local sheriff's deputies

The recent increase in sheriff's surveillance in the neighborhoods around our local schools is much appreciated. With such due vigilance in local law enforcement and the community, I am reassured that the Santa Clarita Valley truly is the best place to raise a family.

The choice is yours

High Social Security payroll taxes have contributed to yearly Social Security trust fund surpluses until the proclaimed surplus is now in excess of $2.42 trillion. A.G. attacks marriage

Last week, Attorney General Eric Holder made a strategic stop at the University of Maine, where he told the audience that the Defense of Marriage Act - which is under attack in the very state he visited - "is discriminatory and should be repealed." America's highest-ranking law enforcer made a stopover in Maine to campaign for same-sex "marriage" on the eve of a vote to outlaw it.

CHP cracks down on driving under the influence

"There's no excuse for operating a motor vehicle after you've been drinking," CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow said. "Not only is it against the law, you're putting your life and the lives of fellow motorists at risk every time you do."
