I cannot believe it! The April Fool's issue of The Signal is becoming reality. It was a most clever article (in jest, I thought at the time) that told us all the City Council was being voted in "for life" and we wouldn't need anymore elections.

In response to the recent rhetoric regarding "environmental terrorism": OK, I get what City Councilman Frank Ferry ("Ferry: Stop 'developmental terrorism,'" June 1) is trying to say, although I might have used the term "developmental obstructionists," because there are indeed vocal individuals in our valley who attempt to oppose any new development for any reason in Santa Clarita.
Are you appalled by the front-page story ("City OK's $117K 'Old West' re-do for Newhall Library," May 13) regarding the cost of revised architectural drawings for our new library? So was I.
