Windy weather woes: Tree limb falls on pickup truck

High winds caused problems for a local motorist on Tuesday. While waiting to turn right onto McBean Parkway from Creekside Road, Marie Edmistron's pickup truck was hit by a falling tree limb.

Valencia High School cheerleaders

No doubts about Castaic's future

As election day approaches, I find the need to inform the Castaic community, which I love so dearly, as to what I think is best for the Castaic Union School District. I have served on the Castaic school board for the past eight years and am presently honored to be president as I was in 2007. I also served on the Castaic Town Council from 2001 through 2008. A council member cannot serve more than two consecutive terms and that is the reason I am no longer serving in that capacity.

What qualifies Colley for water board?

This is an alert to all voters of the Newhall County Water District. Kathryn Colley is not, in my opinion, a viable candidate for director on the district board. She has shown no interest in the water district prior to this election and still does not attend any meetings, even during the campaign. She also did not show up for a candidate forum.
